How does a lodge under the Grand Lodge of India appoint its officers?

Officers of a lodge under the Grand Lodge of India are selected through a combination of election and appointment. According to the Regional Grand Lodge of Northern India, the lodge members elect the Treasurer and Tyler during the same election meeting in which the Master is elected.

Following the election, the Worshipful Master appoints both the regular officers and any additional officers. The regular officers appointed by the Master consist of the Senior Warden, Junior Warden, Secretary, Senior Deacon, Junior Deacon, and Inner Guard. The additional appointed positions include the Chaplain, Director of Ceremonies, Assistant Director of Ceremonies, Almoner, Bearers of VSLs, Sword Bearer, Organist, Assistant Secretary, and Stewards.
