When a Brother wishes to demit from his current Lodge and seek membership in another Lodge, he must follow specific procedures as outlined in the Constitution. According to Rule 138, a Brother desiring to become a joining or rejoining member of a daughter Lodge must be proposed and seconded at a regular meeting. He must also be balloted for at the next regular meeting, and if elected, he becomes a member of the daughter Lodge immediately.

Furthermore, if the Brother has been initiated in a Lodge not under the Grand Lodge and wishes to join a daughter Lodge under the Grand Lodge, the Secretary of the Lodge must apply to the Regional Grand Secretary to ensure that the Grand Lodge under which the Brother was initiated is recognized by the Grand Lodge before the ballot is taken【4:2†source】.
