What are the requirements for visitors to attend a Lodge?

Visitors wishing to attend a Lodge must meet several requirements as outlined in the Constitution. Specifically, no Brother who is subject to the Grand Lodge shall be admitted into a daughter Lodge unless:

• He is personally known to and vouched for by one of the Brethren present.
• He has been well vouched for after due examination.
• If required, he shall produce his Grand Lodge Certificate and proof of good standing in his Lodge or Lodges.

Additionally, any Brother who is not subject to the Grand Lodge can only be admitted if his certificate shows that he has been initiated according to the ancient rites and ceremonies in a Lodge belonging to a Grand Lodge that professes belief in T.G.A.O.T.U. It is also crucial for the visiting Brother to acknowledge that this belief is an essential Landmark of the Order and produce proof of good standing in his Lodge or Lodges.

It is the responsibility of the Master of any Lodge to verify that any visiting Brother’s Constitution is recognized by the Grand Lodge. During the visit, all visitors are also subject to the relevant bye-laws of the Lodge they are attending.

As per Rule 104:

“No Brother who is not subject to the Grand Lodge shall be admitted unless his certificate shows that he has been initiated according to the ancient rites…”
