where can I find lists of famous freemasons documented in the historical archives

Lists and profiles of notable Freemasons across categories such as monarchs, statesmen, authors, actors, scientists, and sportsmen are documented in the Famous Freemasons section on the United Grand Lodge of England site. Extensive historical archives, library holdings, and personal records concerning individual historical Masons are maintained by the Museum of Freemasonry.

In printed Masonic literature, H. L. Haywood's Famous Masons provides short biographies of a hundred Masons distinguished for their work in the Craft, alongside chapters devoted to American presidents who belonged to the fraternity 1. Earlier Masonic histories, such as James Anderson's 1723 Constitutions, similarly catalogued historic and traditional figures attributed to the art, ranging from biblical leaders to English monarchs and architects 2.
