Although early workings in local lodges such as Perfect Unanimity and Pilgrims of Light lacked a warrant from a Supreme Grand Council and eventually fell into abeyance, the degree was formally established when the Coromandel Chapter of the Rose Croix was consecrated in Madras in 1869 under a warrant from the Supreme Council 33° for England and Wales 1.
