What is the Grand Conclave in India?
The Grand Conclave in India is a sovereign body that oversees the Order of the Secret Monitor (OSM) in India. It was constituted on December 14, 2013, driven by a desire for self-administration and the increasing costs associated with international affiliation. The formation was positively received by the Grand Supreme Ruler.
Currently, the Grand Supreme Ruler is M.Wy.Bro. B. Kamakoti, and the Grand Recorder is R.Wy.Bro. Bharat V Epur. The membership of the Order in India is significant, with over 25,000 members, representing nearly 30% of the total membership of the Order in the British Isles and its Districts and Conclaves overseas.
The Grand Conclave oversees several District Grand Conclaves, including those in Southern, Western, Northern, and Eastern India, each comprising multiple Conclaves. The ceremonials of the Order are based on the Old Testament story of the friendship between David and Jonathan, emphasizing true and faithful friendship, and the philosophy aims to foster brotherhood and mutual support among its members.
