How many degrees are there in total?
The Grand Lodge of India practices Antient, Free and Accepted Masonry, which consists of three degrees: the Entered Apprentice, the Fellow Craft, and the Master Mason. This has been the tradition for more than two centuries.
As stated in the Constitution: "that it will continue to practice Antient, Free and Accepted Masonry consisting of three degrees of the Entered Apprentice, the Fellow Craft and the Master Mason as it has been practised in India for more than two centuries;" (Rule 2, Declaration of Basic Principles).
