How to become a Freemason?
Becoming a Freemason is a journey of personal growth and community involvement. The primary requirements include being a man of good character, at least 18 years of age, and believing in a Supreme Being. As stated in the Constitutions of the Ancient Fraternity of Free and Accepted Masons by James Anderson (1723), a candidate must be "of good repute" and "freeborn".
The process typically begins with expressing your interest to a Freemason you know. They can guide you through the steps, which usually involve an application and an interview. If approved, you will then be balloted upon by the members of the Lodge. Should the ballot be favorable, you will be initiated into the fraternity, embarking on a path of moral and spiritual development through symbolic degrees.
