If a proposed candidate could not be balloted in the next regular meeting, can he be re-proposed in the next regular meeting?
According to Rule 135 of the Constitution, a candidate for initiation must be balloted for at the next regular meeting following his proposal. If the ballot is not taken at that meeting, the proposal shall lapse. Therefore, if a candidate could not be balloted in the next regular meeting, he cannot be re-proposed in the subsequent regular meeting unless a new proposal is made, as the original proposal has lapsed.
It is important to note that the particulars required of the candidate, as well as of his proposer and seconder, must be furnished to the secretary of the Lodge prior to the meeting at which the proposal is to be made.
