If one is a Master Mason, has left one's mother lodge, holds no membership in any other lodge, can they still visit lodges?
According to the Constitution, a Brother who has ceased to be a subscribing member of every daughter Lodge of which he has been a member is subject to specific provisions. If he is not excluded under certain rules, he may attend any one daughter Lodge only once until he becomes a subscribing member of a daughter Lodge again. During this visit, he must append the word 'unattached' to his signature in the attendance book, indicating the name and number of the last daughter Lodge of which he was a subscribing member (Rule 106).
How can they apply for membership in a different lodge?
A Brother desiring to become a joining or rejoining member of a daughter Lodge must be proposed and seconded at a regular meeting. He must then be balloted for at the next regular meeting. If elected, he becomes a member immediately. Before the ballot, he must produce his Grand Lodge Certificate and a certificate of good standing from each daughter Lodge he has been a member of, showing that all dues have been paid. If he has ceased to be a member of any Lodge, he must provide a certificate stating the circumstances of his departure and whether he was indebted at that time (Rule 138).
