Is this religious?
According to the Constitution of the Grand Lodge of Antient, Free & Accepted Masons of India, Freemasonry is not a religion but rather a fraternity that accepts members from various religious backgrounds. While a belief in a Supreme Being (referred to as the Grand Architect of the Universe) is a prerequisite for membership, the organization itself maintains a neutral stance on religious and political discussions. Specifically, Rule 8 under the Declaration of Basic Principles states that 'neither in any Lodge nor at any time in his capacity as a Freemason will he be permitted to discuss or advance his views on religious or political questions.' Hence, Freemasonry serves as a platform for moral and ethical fostering among diverse belief systems rather than a religious institution.
