What are the different bodies Master Masons can join? Master Masons, having attained the third degree, have opportunities to further their Masonic journey. Beyond their Craft Lodge, they may join appendant bodies that offer additional degrees and teachings. In the United States, the most common paths are through York Rite Masonry, which includes the Capitular Degrees (Royal Arch), Cryptic Degrees (Royal and Select Master), and the Chivalric Orders (Knights Templar), and Scottish Rite Masonry, which offers a rich system of degrees exploring philosophy and morality. Additionally, there are various other organizations such as the Shrine, which has a greater social aspect and focuses on fundraising.
