What is covered in Rule 4A of the GLI Constitution?
Rule 4A addresses the procedures to be followed in the event of unprecedented calamities such as acts of God, force majeure, war, pandemics, floods, earthquakes, or health emergencies that threaten the lives of the brethren and citizens. It empowers the M.W. the Grand Master, or in his absence, the Deputy Grand Master or Assistant Grand Master, to declare the postponement or deferral of elections, installations, or regular meetings of the Lodges for an indefinite period until normalcy is restored. During such periods, regular meetings are considered abandoned and must be recorded as such in the Lodge minutes. A special dispensation will be granted by the Grand Master to hold elections or installation meetings within 14 days of the resumption of Lodge meetings.
