What is the procedure for electing a new Master in a Lodge?

Every daughter Lodge shall annually, on the day named in its bye-laws for the purpose, proceed to elect a Master by ballot from among those of its members who are Past Masters or who have served for one year in the office of Senior Warden or Junior Warden in a regular Lodge. The ballot is declared in favor of the member thus qualified who has received the largest number of votes from the members present and voting (Rule 87).

At the next regular meeting, the Master so elected must be duly installed according to antient usage, unless a motion against this has been properly proposed and carried (Rule 87). If the elected Master becomes disqualified or unable to assume office less than seven days before installation, the outgoing Master continues in position until the vacancy is resolved (Rule 89).
