Grand lodge of india
Craft Masonry was established in India during the early eighteenth century under deputation from the Grand Lodge of England, beginning with the constitution of Lodge East India Arms in Bengal in 1730. Lodges were subsequently erected across the Bengal, Madras, and Bombay Presidencies under English, Scottish, and Irish warrants. Membership was initially restricted to European military and civilian personnel, but native Indians were admitted from the 1840s onward following the founding of dedicated lodges such as Rising Star Lodge in Bombay. Prior to 1961, administrative control was exercised through Provincial and District Grand Lodges subordinate to the British Grand Lodges.

A petition sent to England resulted in the appointment of a Provincial Grand Master for India in 1729, as the Grand Lodge of India notes. The Craft expanded through the East India Company, civil bureaucracy, and military lodges, reaching Madras on the Coromandel Coast by 1752 and Bombay by 1758. More than one hundred lodges were warranted in India under English, Scottish, and Irish constitutions by the close of the French and Indian Peninsula wars, as the Grand Lodge of India records.

Turkish
Masonic activity in Turkish territory began in the eighteenth century under foreign jurisdictions, with notices of lodges in Smyrna and Aleppo appearing in London newspapers as early as 1738. Early lodges were largely attended by non-Muslims, though Muslim participation increased toward the middle of the nineteenth century, as a paper read before Quatuor Coronati Lodge records. An irregular meeting occurred in Constantinople in 1844, where several Turks were initiated before the government prohibited further gatherings.
