What is order of scarlet cord?
Qualification for membership in the Ancient and Masonic Order of the Scarlet Cord requires being a subscribing Prince in the Order of the Secret Monitor. The Order descends from the Royal Order of Knights of the Scarlet Cord, which was developed in the British Isles in 1889 using rituals derived from eighteenth-century documents in the Amsterdam Masonic archives, as Mark Masons' Hall records. Historically, degrees of the Scarlet Cord were conferred under the auspices of the Grand Council of the Secret Monitor.
