Major General Dr. Sir Syed Raza Ali Khan, Nawab of Rampur, served as a prominent founder and leader within Masonic lodges in India under both Scottish and Indian constitutions. He was enrolled as the first founding member of Lodge Al-Ameen No. 1412 under the Grand Lodge of Scotland when the lodge was constituted in Mumbai on 7th February 1946, as an article on Lodge Al-Ameen's website records. During a visit to Ahmedabad on 3rd October 1958, he expressed his desire to become a founder member of the proposed Lodge Fellowship, subsequently becoming one of its founders, as an article on Masonry Magic notes.
